Apple's April 2021 Announcements

On Wednesday 21 April, 2021, Apple announced several new exciting product launches that got the Innovation HQ whanau buzzing with excitement.


From colourful iMacs to M1 chips and from cool podcasting developments to the perfect solution for those who always lose their keys, there's something for everyone in this Apple announcement:



Apple introduces AirTag: This is the ultimate for anyone with habit for losing keys and wallets. AirTag expands on Apple's Find My ecosystem. It's an iPhone accessory that provides a private and secure way to easily locate the items that matter most, available beginning Friday 30 April. It will price at NZ$55 for one and NZ$189 for a pack of four.



iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini in an all-new purple: The new finish complements the beautiful flat-edge design of iPhone 12, which features an advanced dual-camera system, Super Retina XDR display with the Ceramic Shield front cover, A14 Bionic, and 5G.



The next generation of Apple TV 4K unveiled: An all-new Siri Remote, innovative colour balance technology (this looks VERY cool!), and high frame rate HDR.



Apple Podcasts gets fresh features: Apple Podcasts Subscriptions will kick off in May. Listeners can sign up for premium subscriptions to get a bunch of benefits from podcast creators, such as ad-free listening, access to additional content, and early or exclusive access to new series.


New iPad Pro: Things are getting just a little epic with the new iPad Pro. It has the M1 chip, ultra-fast 5G, stunning 12.9-inch Liquid Retina XDR display and a cool feature is Centre Stage—perfect for video calls where you want the video to follow you while you move around. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro starts at RRP NZ$1849 and is available from 30 April.
